What are dermal fillers?

Where Does It Work?
Hyaluronic Acid gel fillers are used to improve the appearance of many facial areas, including smile lines and vertical lip lines as well as cheek and lip augmentation.
What should I expect from my treatment?
Dermal fillers are a simple, nonsurgical wrinkle treatment, so there is minimal recovery or downtime. Best of all, you can see the results immediately! You can make an appointment during your lunch hour, on your way one from work, or while the kids are at baseball practice.
What should I do before my treatment?
One week prior to treatment, you should avoid any medications such as NSAIDS and blood thinners that prolong bleeding. This will reduce the risk of bruising and bleeding at the injection site. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask!
What can I expect from a filler treatment?
A topical anesthetic may be used before the injection to improve comfort during treatment. Then the injection will be eased under your skin, where wrinkles and folds occur, to replace lost skin volume. After the injection, the treated areas may be gently massaged. The injection itself usually takes only about fifteen minutes per site.
How soon will I see results?
You will see an immediate improvement in the treatment areas. Most patients need one syringe in each area of concern to achieve optimal wrinkle smoothing and improve skin volume.
How long will it last?
You can see the benefits of just one treatment with Juvederm can smooth away for up to one year! However, results may vary and correction is temporary. Supplemental touch up treatments may be required to achieve and maintain the best results.
